Hyper-v Server 2016 Download [Extra Quality]

I started to work on my server migration project 10 days ago. For the best result, I converted the physical server into virtual machine first, then migrate it to the new Windows Server 2016 Standard (with desktop GUI). The old server is Windows Server 2008 domain controller. After I copy the VHD and set up as virtual machine in the Windows Server 2016. In Hyper-V Manager, after I started up and login the server, there is no "Insert Hyper-V Integration Service Disc" option in Action menu. I search but not found C:\Windows\System32\vmguest.iso . All Windows updates are applied as of today, included KB3206632 (Dec 2016). I set up another Windows 2016 Server with Hyper-V role, the result is the same.

Thanks you to Swisstone give me the hint to download the Integration services. I found out that using the VMGUEST.ISO from the Windows 2012 R2 Server Hyper-V would work for the Virtual Machine in 2016 server.

Thanks Gaurav, that response was really fast. The event viewer does not show any error except for the generic error that i reported in the previous posting. i ran the pre-requisites (Sharepoint 2019) several times it reported running successfully. The only other issue i ran into was a Sharepoint 2016 installation on a Win server 2016 wherein app fabric 1.1 never allowed us to complete the installation. That issue was resolved at our end with a few clean up tips. i am re-installing SP 2016/Win 2016 to then migrate to SP 2019. hopefully this will resolve. Once again nice blog and thank you.

I have an Intel NUC6i5SYH with I219-V gigabit Ethernet and discovered that the Intel Ethernet driver installs and runs with Windows 10, but not with Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2016 OS. In looking for Intel Ethernet drivers on the downloadcenter.intel.com website, I found driver package 21.0 that lists support for both I219-LM and I219-V, but actual driver installation testing indicates that for Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2016 OS, the e1d65x64.sys driver only installs against I219-LM but not I219-V.

Will Intel please clarify the support position of your Ethernet drivers for I219-V and Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2016. If the drivers have no support for this HW/OS combination then a correction is in order for the downloadcenter.intel.com website, as the information on it currently is misleading.

I've been trying to get my NUC6i5SYH to run Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2016 as part of an experimental audio setup. Since Intel LAN driver will not install for I219-V with WS2012 R2 and WS2016, I have lost the ability to get the NUC6i5SYH to boot one of these two server OS in a diskless configuration (using Microsoft iSCSI virtual disk). This is very unfortunate. Had this NUC featured I219-LM LOM there would have been no trouble with WS2012 R2 or WS2016, but this is not the case.

Guys! All these "LAN driver not supported on server" issues are easily solved by "hacking" the corresponding code-base driver ie Windows 7 driver for 2008, Windows 8 driver for 2012, Windows 10 driver for 2016, respectively.

Hello, thanks for the post.Mine is setup exactly they way you described, however when I check the restart options in the settings of 2016 server, it should be saying restart at midnight on Sunday, BUT, sunday is not showing in the field where it should be showing, even though is setup in the registry.
